De Nederlandse tenor Thomas de Bruijn studeerde zang bij Hubert Delamboye. Als lyrisch tenor is hij actief op vooraanstaande Europese operapodia en in het concertrepertoire.
Hij werkte samen met dirigenten en regisseurs als Christophe Rousset, Pierre Audi, Lotte de Beer en Miranda van Kralingen. In 2017 maakte De Bruijn zijn debuut bij De Nationale Opera in Amsterdam in Pierre Audi’s productie Madrigalen. Sindsdien werkte hij mee aan talrijke producties van De Nationale Opera & Ballet. Daarnaast is hij verbonden aan Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, De Munt / La Monnaie, het Nederlands Radiokoor en de Bayreuther Festspiele.
Zijn solorepertoire omvat rollen als Rodolfo (La Bohème), Nemorino (L’elisir d’amore), Alfredo Germont (La Traviata), Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Belmonte (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Lyonel (Martha), Danilo (Die lustige Witwe) en Graaf Tassilo (Gräfin Mariza).
Ook als concertzanger is Thomas regelmatig te horen. Hij zingt onder meer de tenoraria’s in Bachs Johannes-Passion en Matthäus-Passion, naast oratoria en andere vocale concertwerken.
Thomas de Bruijn is oprichter van Dining Opera Company, waarmee hij opera in een eigentijdse en toegankelijke vorm presenteert. Als solist en maker ontwikkelt hij producties waarin muziek, theater en ontmoeting samenkomen voor een breed publiek.

He has worked with distinguished conductors and stage directors including Christophe Rousset, Pierre Audi, Lotte de Beer and Miranda van Kralingen. In 2017, De Bruijn made his debut with Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam in Pierre Audi’s production of Madrigalen. Since then, he has appeared in numerous productions with Dutch National Opera & Ballet. He is also engaged by Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, La Monnaie / De Munt, the Netherlands Radio Choir and the Bayreuth Festival.
